Better Conversations
Build Stronger Relationships and Greater Well-Being
This is an invitation to leaders, to parents, to anyone curious about the science and the practice of more intentional communication. Research is clear: the quality of our relationships shapes the quality of our well-being, and our relationships are built through the conversations we have.
I'm Francine Apy, an author, speaker, and facilitator with 25+ years of executive HR leadership, a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania, and more than 30 years of lived adoption experience. At the center of my work is the BEACON Communication Model, a simple, repeatable way to have the conversations that matter most.

Research-Backed Model
The BEACON Communication Model
At the center of everything I do is the BEACON Communication Model — a six-part, cyclical framework grounded in applied positive psychology. It's not a script and it's not a personality test. It's a repeatable way to meet hard conversations with intention instead of panic, whether you're navigating a tense moment at work or a hard question at home.
The same model that helps a leader navigate a hard conversation with their team on Monday helps a parent navigate a hard conversation with their child on Tuesday. One skill. Every room you show up in.

SoulFilling Adoption
Supporting Families through Every Stage of the Adoption Journey
As a mother blessed three times through adoption, and over 30 years of lived adoption experience within our extended family, I've learned that the conversations that matter most — about identity, belonging, and origin — don't wait for a crisis. They show up before an adoption is finalized, in the everyday moments of childhood, and in every season that follows.
I started SoulFilling because the adoption landscape is evolving. With adoption-competent therapy, stronger laws, more open adoptions, and more triad voices gaining visibility, this is the right moment to introduce flourishing, resilience, mindset, and emotional well-being into the adoption conversation.
This isn't intended as therapy, and it isn't a replacement for adoption-competent clinical care. It's the reflective, growth-based support that comes alongside it — helping families communicate with more clarity and confidence at every stage of their journey.
What this can look like for your family:
-
Ongoing support before, during, and after every stage of the adoption journey
-
Workshops and resources for parents navigating identity, connection, and change
-
Partnership opportunities for adoption organizations and agencies
Every family's story is different — and the support that fits should be too. See how we can work together.
I’m Francine Apy, writer, speaker, positive psychology practitioner, and a lifelong believer in people’s capacity to flourish.
I combine more than 25 years of executive HR and organizational development experience with a Master of Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. As a mother blessed three times through adoption, I've seen firsthand how much of a child's well-being depends on the parents raising them, and how much of a team's well-being depends on the conversations leaders are willing to have.
I can't change the systems around adoption or workplace culture on my own. But I can equip the people who show up in those systems every day — parents, leaders, professionals — with better tools for the conversations that matter most. Consider this an open invitation to build that skill with me.
